What's cuter than a baby's hands and feet? NOTHING! So why not keep a memory of them? I will "cast" your child's hand or foot with a simple process that is not in any way harmful or uncomfortable to the child. I just need an "Entertainer" to keep baby happy and occupied! The cast can be made as early as newborn and then all the way to the teen years. It is really neat to have mutliple castings done the first year of the baby's life to see how much they grow. My mission is to help women with breast cancer hold on to a piece of their original self. For women that are facing a mastectomy, a breast cast is a creative way to keep the memory of her body in tact for many more years. A breast cast is a piece of art that can aid in the emotional and physical healing process. It is a way to embrace the journey you have been on throughout the battle with Breast Cancer and a way for you to look back and say "If I can beat this, I can do anything!"

Whether it's a belly cast your having made or a casting of your child's hand and/or foot, I will help you create a piece of art that both you and your family will cherish for years to come. I have many questions asked before a client signs up for a service, so I'm going to try and answer below the most frequently asked questions. Please email me if your question is not listed below.
Belly Casts:
Q: When is the best time to have a belly cast made?
A: Between 34-38 weeks of pregnancy. However, you can have them made before that 34 weeks and after 38.
Q: Why have a belly cast made?
A: You can see all the possibility, the unknown of what your baby will look like. You don't see the stretch marks or the nausea! A belly casts will capture your bountiful belly in a really cool 3D form.
Q: Where do I make the cast?
A: I can come to you or you can come to me at my own home. You are more than welcome to have other family members or friends join in the action. I also provide a service to make the cast at your baby shower or what I like to call "Pack Your Bag Party".
Q: How long does a cast take to make?
A: With set up to clean up, you can estimate atleast 1 1/2 hours. The actual casting only takes 25-45 minutes. After the cast comes off, you can keep it in it's raw form or I can take it with me to decorate. I will sit down and sketch out ideas for the decoartion.
Q: Why have a professional make the cast:
A: There are certainly kits sold in craft stores or on the internet to make your own cast, but the materials are not a professional grade. Most people find that after they make a "DIY" cast, the edges will bend or tear or the cast will not be smooth. Also, I've seen more times than none, after a "DIY" cast is made, it just lies around for a while before it gets decorated, if at all. It is worth every penny you spend to have the cast made by a professional.
Q:What if you are a very modest person:
A: If you are modest, then you can choose to have only your belly casted and not the whole torso. Rest assured though, I will make you feel very comfortable. I want this to be a one-of-a-kind experience for you!
Castings of Hands and Feet:
Q: When is the best time to have my child's hand and/or foot casted?
A: Anytime! I have ability to cast from newborn to adult.
Q: Does it hurt my baby?
A: Absolutely not. The material I sink the hand or foot into sets up with one minute. It's completely fine even if your baby is a little wiggly.
Breast Cast:
Q: Why have a breast cast made?
A: Women who are going to have a mastectomy will have a memory of her natural shape. A breast cast is a way to remember yourself and will aid in the physical and emotional healing.
Originally from Mobile, AL, I moved to the southwest at 21 years old to follow my dream of becoming an interior designer. After 3 years of school, I graduated from The Art Center Design College with my Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design.
In 2007 James (my husband) and I started trying to conceive our first child together. After almost two years of not becoming pregnant, I was put on medication to help the process. Within two rounds of medication, I was pregnant and gave birth to Joshua Cole Holden on September 12, 2009.
Before my education as an Interior Designer, I was always the “artsy” type growing up. When other little girls were playing with dolls, I wanted to draw, color, and paint. When I became pregnant, I instantly knew that I wanted a Belly Cast. With the help of two friends, we made my cast when I was 35 weeks pregnant. After making my own cast, I realized what a cherished memory this would be for the rest of my life. When I look at my cast now, it reminds me of the journey it took to get pregnant but also makes me think how blessed I am to have my baby boy.
Other services I provide include making castings of childrens' hands and feet and breast casts. All of my services allow me to be creative and help create wonderful memories for families!
